Green Boss Drops? - Guild Wars Forums

I don't know how long it has been since the last time I received a green item drop from a boss.

Why can't I get any greens?

It has just been bothering me lately within the GW world for me. ^_^

Greens often have very low drop rates. Couple that with the fact that you're probably running with a team of heros and henchmen, you won't have a good chance of one dropping. If you had full teams of players, you'd probably see 1 drop every 2 or 3 bosses, but most likely for one of the other 7 people in your team.

The only way to get a good chance is to solo farm. If you have access to the Hearts of the North content, you should easily be able to get a Rotwing Recurve Bow from killing Rotscale. It drops literally like 90% of the time, whether from him or one of his lackies.

Or you could solo the Behemoths in The Falls. Very easy to do and there's about 10 or 12 of them. all are easy-to-kill lvl19 rangers and they drop Totem Axes. I personally get an average of 2 per run, but have gotten as many as 6 in one run.

because you are in a full group of 8, of which 7 are heroes and hench and you don't see their drops

and almost all tyrian bosses don't have greens

Another thing about greens is that their text is the same colour as the text labeling heroes, henchmen, pets, spirits, and minions, so it can be easy to miss the item amongst your group's feet. It's one more green word in what can be a sea of green words. More than once I've almost walked away from a green drop because I just didn't see it.

I recommend when you're fighting a boss, make sure to check in the chat box for what has dropped (if anything,) rather than just looking on the ground. It's possible to get greens and simply miss them if you aren't paying attention.

I've found over many years of MMO's that you get what you want when you dont want it.

Dont think about it and it will come.

Very true. I bought a fairly expensive piece of chest armor for my Gladiator in AION the other day only to have it drop for me 10 minutes later.

Take a run through Sorrow's Furnace.

I almost always come out with at least one green, lol.

But yeah, it just seems like it would be cruddy luck.

You will see you get none of this, but you could get a handful of greenies
